Toyota has announced a voluntary recall campaign on for the 2007-2008 version of the car RAV4, Highlander and the 2008 edition vehicles were sold in the U.S., the risk of errors caused by air bag sensors.
Toyota says the car has about 214,000 RAV4 and Highlander and Highlander HV 94,000 vehicles in this area in the North American recall.
The cause was summoned roll over sensor system to activate the curtain airbags may fail. Specifically, the two sensors are designed to detect the angle of roll over.
Toyota said that if one sensor fails, the air bag warning lamp will light and risk detection system was broken roll over, but the air bags still in a state of ready if the crash side car .
However, if both sensor malfunction with the air curtain system and tighten the safety belt bag can be activated unintentionally.
Toyota said the company will begin notify vehicle owners by mail in the U.S. in May next.
Automobile manufacturers in Japan also said RAV4 and Highlander vehicles sold in other markets not included in the recall because the system is not equipped with curtain airbags with roll over sensors.
