How Exercise Will Help You Lose Weight Faster by the Huntington Beach Personal Trainer

By Derrick Yoo

There are many people who want to be fit to look better or just be healthy overall. Some of these people don't have any idea how to get in shape. Some people opt for radical diets, others use meal supplements and others opt for diet pills. While these things may have short term effects and it may look like you are losing weight, the truth is, these ways do more harm than good. In order to effectively lose weight, you need to incorporate eating right with exercise.

Exercise is definitely the answer for losing weight. The goal is to burn more calories than you are consuming, which will, eventually help you lose weight. To lose weight, you should focus your energy on aerobic exercises. These exercises, walking, running, swimming, cycling, focus on targeting the heart. The more the heart works, the more calories you can burn. That doesn't mean that you should sprint 10 laps around the track to get the most of your exercises. What you should do is to get your heart rate up, and then keep it up as you exercise. The more you work when your heart rate is up, the more fat you can burn.

Another way to help lose weight is to build muscle through strength training. Building muscle is important because muscles burn more amounts of calories in a longer period of time than fat. So the more muscles you have, the more calories you can burn. Dieters should note that certain diets can cause loss of muscle mass, so this is another reason why strength training is so important.

So, how often should you exercise and for how long? For aerobic exercises you should do at least 30 minutes of exercise up to 5 times a week. That doesn't mean that you should go out and jog for 30 minutes though. You can do 3 intervals of ten minutes through the day. To hit the fat burning zone easier, spend 2 minutes running then the 4 minutes cooling down and the other 4 minutes of course for warming up. Of course the more advance you get, you will want to spend more than 30 minutes exercising.

No amount of exercise can help you if you aren't eating right. Start eating right by eliminating junk food from your diet. That means no more chips, chocolate and, yes, sodas. Instead, drink more water and incorporate more fruits and vegetables in your meal. If you feel like a snack, why not try an apple or carrot sticks instead of potato chips.

Forget about radical diets, and dodgy diet pills. If you really want to lose weight, start exercising and eating right. Do aerobic exercises to get your heart rate up and earn extra calories busters. Incorporate strength training to build muscle which burns calories even after you are done working out. Lastly, round everything off all with a well balanced diet. Follow these tips and you will quickly be on your way to losing weight.
